Hope you are doing well. I’ve been toying around with a modified Paleo diet. Wanted to see what you thought of the Paleo thing overall?
The short answer is it really comes down to your goals.
Everything is always context specific. Maintenance of current condition, lose body fat, or gain muscle.
Paleo is great for maintenance depending on your insulin sensitivity.
A lot of folks who are insulin insensitive (lots of Northern European-Slavic Folks) do really well on Paleo style diets. And if you’re obese and need to lose weight correctly and in the safest most efficient way possible Paleo is superb.
IMO, the optimal diet (regardless of somatotype/insulin sensitivity) is modulating your carbs to be higher (as much clean carbs as you can get away with and not suffer fat deposition)on your weight training days, and super low to minimal carbs on non weight training days while also using Metformin and Armour Thyroid on an empty stomach twice daily. (AM and PM).
We are available to consult with you to tweak all of this. Just email me.
Be the BEST YOU EVER!
