The babble that rattles around in between our ears can make us or break us.
How can we improve our mental game?
It’s a detail that can be used to foster greatness.
There was a Schwarzenegger story where he fired a woman who delivered bad news to him first thing in the morning. Your mental clean slate upon rising is a fresh start at a new life, everyday. Arnold knew this. And That lady he fired obviously didn’t.
So first thing in the morning:
Vision- see or look at what you will become by choice.
Hear- listen to a song or say a mantra that lifts you into the thrill of anticipating new feats.
Taste-savor a flavor or texture that means drive and strength.
Smell-inhale a scent that stimulates thriving and glory.
Touch-feel a texture or temperature or a shape that signifies success.
Move-cherish your life force and freedom of movement
As the day progresses, little creepy whispers or ideas might jump up or sneak onto your stage.
Without fear or recoil, use them. They are great catalysts or triggers for a replacement thoughts.
“This will never work!” ⇒ What might work better?
Changing strategy or improving a technique is a great approach.
“I am fat”==> “Yes I have fat.”
And my lifestyle, diet and exercise regime allow me to alter how much I have.
“So-and-so can do it. I can’t.”==>
What are 1-3 behaviors or actions that So-and-so uses that I can start doing today?
“I rather lay down.”==>
Can I do 10 push ups or ten minutes of movement before resting? Or will a short rest help me complete my planned training?
“I love pizza/ice cream.”==>
Regularly program in your favorite foods so you stay on plan.
Anything on any day that you are not satisfied with, plan what to do about it. You.
Blaming others and feeling like a victim might be your first reflex.
As soon as you can, sit back up tall in your driver seat and decide a new way to make whatever it is better. Consider making circumstances better for others at the same time. Direct your valuable energy towards solutions and growth.
